President and Chief Executive Officer, Board Member
Richard L. Wittenberg is President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Adolescents and Children Together (ACT) for Health and a member of the Board of Directors. He also serves as President and CEO of The Wittenberg Group LLC, a public affairs consultancy in the health and human services sector.
Richard was previously President and CEO of the American Association for World Health (AAWH), the U.S. support organization to the World Health Organization and the Pan American Health Organization. During his eleven years at AAWH, he successfully directed initiatives promoting public health education and community involvement on topics as diverse as oral health, violence prevention, HIV/AIDS, mental health and cardiovascular disease.
Prior to AAWH, Richard was chief of public affairs for the Ohio Department of Health. Before that, he was a member of the Ohio House of Representatives, where he championed consumer protection and legislation to improve health and wellbeing.
Throughout his career, Richard has been active in community organizations such as the Infant Mortality Board in Hamilton County, Ohio and the Partnership for a Healthier Pinellas in Pinellas County, Florida. He currently resides in the Washington, D.C. area with his wife and their fraternal twins.
